Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise Joins SCHW

Cumnock Juniors are just the latest organisations to join SCHW - they say that they are ‘joining SCHW to develop opportunities to connect with other organisations committed to transforming health and wellbeing. We would be honoured to contribute to and learn from this growing and impactful network.’

At the heart of Cumnock Juniors is the Townhead Community Sports Hub, a vibrant community facility that supports

programmes for people aged 2 to 78. It is home to youth and adult football teams, walking football for older

adults, and inclusive sessions for individuals with additional support needs. Alongside football we also deliver All

Ability Cycling, Boccia, Tri-golf and have a group for Adults with learning disabilities. They have part time coaches

who deliver Breakfast, Lunch and Afterschool clubs The hub also hosts a variety of other health and wellbeing

initiatives, educational activities, and community events that bring people together across generations.

The programmes go well beyond sport. they deliver:

• Mental health and addiction recovery support, including peer-led initiatives and referral-based services.

• Youth leadership and employability programmes, run in partnership with local schools, focusing on

confidence-building, skills development, and CV preparation.

• Food insecurity support, including the ongoing provision of food parcels in partnership with Home Link and

Social care who work with us to identify families in need.

• Social inclusion activities designed to combat loneliness and isolation—particularly among older adults and

vulnerable groups—through events, groups, and befriending initiatives.

• Health and wellbeing events, delivered in collaboration with health professionals and local services,

targeting key issues such as physical activity, mental health, and lifestyle education.
