Farewell to Brendan Rooney

Brendan is retiring in March after 23 years leading Healthy N Happy in Rutherglen. Brendan has been a driving force behind SCHW since it began. As one of our founding members, he played a pivotal role in shaping our message to the Scottish Government, advocating passionately for continued support of the Healthy Living Network. Thanks to his efforts, we secured two years of vital funding to help Health Living Centres transition from Lottery support to local sustainability. And now for a word from the man himself…….

Hey all

Today is my last day (28/03/26) of work and I now finally understand what it means when I hear, “Get a life!”

I will no longer be party to the insanity that we call, “work.”  I have been an accomplice to this madness for far too long and I have now retired after 23 wonderful years at Healthy n Happy and after 44 years of working overall.

It’s been a real honour and pleasure working with you all and I really wish you all, your wonderful staff, volunteers and organisations every future success.
