A Fond Farewell to Julie Fox – A True Champion of Community Health

It’s with warm wishes and deep appreciation that SCHW bids farewell to Julie Fox, who is retiring from the Board and from her role at Annexe Communities in Partick.

Julie has been a driving force behind SCHW since its inception. As one of our founding members, she played a pivotal role in shaping our message to the Scottish Government, advocating passionately for continued support of the Healthy Living Network. Thanks to her efforts, we secured two years of vital funding to help Health Living Centres transition from Lottery support to local sustainability.

Julie’s impact didn’t stop there. She was instrumental in the development of the SCHW SPRING Social Prescribing project, a groundbreaking initiative that brought together partners from Scotland and Northern Ireland. The project, supported by Lottery funding, has delivered meaningful outcomes for individuals and practitioners alike—helping to shape the future of social prescribing across both nations.

Julie’s legacy is one of vision, dedication, and heartfelt commitment to community wellbeing. As she heads off to enjoy more time with her daughter and grandchild in America, we send her off with our sincerest thanks and best wishes for this exciting new chapter.

Farewell, Julie—you’ll be greatly missed, but your impact will be felt for years to come.
