Prevention Under Pressure New Report 2026
This report presents findings from engagement with Community-led Health Organisations (CHOs) across Scotland at a critical time for the sector. Participants reported unprecedented demand, increasing complexity, and crisis-level need alongside shrinking resources. Many are filling gaps left by statutory services while being excluded from key decision-making processes. Despite delivering vital support to thousands of people, often without public funding, they are frequently treated as non-essential.
Several organisations warned they are nearing a financial cliff edge, with reserves being used to sustain services. Some have already closed, and without urgent action more services and support may be lost.
Following the October 2025 survey, a workshop was held in March 2026 with community-led health organisations to explore the findings in greater depth. Click here to download
